Roundtable 1 — Mission 300 Country Compacts: Translating Pledges into Connections

This roundtable convenes country delegations and institutional partners to assess the implementation status of Mission 300 Country Compacts, share lessons from early movers, and examine the link between policy reforms, institutional capacity, and financing. It is hosted by the World Bank and the African Development Bank/ACBF.

Moderated by Prof. Kevin Kariuki (Vice President, Power, Energy, Climate and Green Growth, AfDB), with Dr. Demetrios Papathanasiou (World Bank), Mr. Andrew Herscowitz (Mission 300 Accelerator, The Rockefeller Foundation), Ms. Damilola Ogunbiyi (SEforALL / UN-Energy), Dr. Wale Shonibare (AfDB) and Engr. Doris Ubooh (Rural Electrification Fund, Nigeria).

Objective: review progress on Mission 300 Compact implementation, identify challenges and gaps, and agree practical actions to accelerate reforms, mobilize financing, and advance access commitments. Expected outcomes: a consolidated implementation status matrix; key regulatory, institutional, technical and financing bottlenecks identified; priority follow-up actions and a partner coordination mechanism agreed.
