Summit Focus

The 2026 Africa Think Tank Summit (ATTS) brings together policymakers, think tanks, researchers, development partners, private sector leaders, and regional institutions to advance practical solutions that position energy as a catalyst for Africa's economic transformation. The Summit will explore how reliable, affordable, and financially sustainable energy systems can accelerate industrialization, job creation, digital innovation, and regional integration.

Building on the momentum of previous editions and the African Think Tank Platform (ATTP), the 2026 Summit shifts the policy conversation beyond expanding electricity access to addressing the governance, financing, regulatory, and implementation reforms needed to create resilient and bankable power sectors. Through high-level dialogues, technical sessions, research presentations, and collaborative engagements, participants will exchange evidence, share best practices, and develop actionable policy recommendations that strengthen energy sector performance and investment.

The 2026 Summit shifts the focus from expanding energy access to building reliable, financially sustainable power systems that drive industrialization, investment, and economic growth. It responds to Africa's growing need for practical reforms in energy governance, financing, and utility performance.

Through evidence-based dialogue and collaboration, participants will explore solutions for power sector reform, regional integration, productive energy use, and inclusive energy transitions, generating actionable recommendations that support Africa's long-term development and competitiveness.
