Breakout B — Inclusive Energy Transition: Clean Cooking, Gender, and Decentralized Solutions
Session Overview
This breakout addresses demand-side solutions, gender equity in energy access, and off-grid and mini-grid innovation, building a concrete evidence base for gender-disaggregated energy access commitments — moving from broad statements to measurable targets that can be incorporated into national reform compact monitoring frameworks.
Facilitated by Dr. Rose Mutiso (Energy for Growth Hub), with Mrs. Astria Fataki (Energy Generation), Mrs. Hannah Wanjie Ryder (Development Reimagined), Mrs. Ineza Umuhoza Grace (The Green Protector / Loss and Damage Youth Coalition), Mrs. Sheila Oparaocha (ENERGIA Network) and Mrs. Mariama Mamane (Jacigreen).
Objective: build measurable gender-disaggregated energy access commitments for national reform monitoring. Expected outcomes: gender-responsive energy indicators proposed for national compact monitoring and submitted to the Communiqué drafting team; three mini-grid or clean cooking business models documented as replicable one-page profiles; the evidence base linking gender equity to measurable access targets strengthened.
