Summit Overview

The 10th Africa Think Tank Summit was held 8–10 October 2024 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, under the theme "Evidence-Based Strategies for Sustainable Climate Financing in Africa," convened by the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF). Delegates from 31 think tanks — among them 23 female speakers — explored climate-finance solutions and gender mainstreaming before turning to Africa's carbon markets through fireside dialogue, stakeholder panels and a closing communiqué.

The edition also marked the summit's 10th anniversary, commemorated with a tribute video and an awards ceremony honouring the best African think tanks for research output, policy influence and advocacy. The Abidjan gathering was co-located with the launch of the Ubora Academy and the 33rd ACBF Board of Governors Meeting.
